Quiet Night
It's very quiet here at work right now. We were sorta busy from 5-7:30 but now there's hardly anyone here. The Old Time Fiddlers played tonight. It is nice to hear the music, rather than rowdy patrons. There's a pretty big group of them here tonight, they also sang along with the music which they used to not. Ally's not working tonight as her mom had to have surgery yesterday. I haven't heard from her yet and I hope her mom is doing good. I'll have to call her to find out. We get paid tomorrow, yay! I worked a split, as there was some training on Books in Print this morning. There are some pretty nifty features. I'm planning on using it more, that's for sure! We close in 15 so I'd better go.

SRP skits have begun!
Nicole, Seth and I (Gibson Library Actor's Guild) had our first 4 shows today. We went to Fay Galloway Elementary and Robert Taylor Elementary. I think the shows went over pretty well. As usual the younger kids reacted to the story a little better. It was lots of fun but I'm totally exhausted. At Galloway we had a foot and a half step to go up and down and we did lots of running. At Taylor the air conditioning had been broken and had just been turned on right before we got started. It didn't start to cool off until near the end of our second skit. I'm glad I'd brought a shirt to change into after all the skits. Need to bring more deodorant though. The next three weeks will go super fast. We have 5 more schools and 10 more shows and once we're done we'll get to have the kickoff. Yay us!

WAZ UP?
As I read over my previous blogs, I'm constantly saying oops, I've been a slacker, haven't updated this in awhile. . .well once again. . .AAARRRG=-)
Work has been good. We go out on Monday for the first Summer Reading skits. The Mystery of the Haunted Library should be a hit. The Gibson Library Actor's Guild will do seven schools with 14 shows in 14 days. A whirlwind tour. Our fans are amazing and very supportive! I've also started looking at books for the summer story time session.
Art Fest was this past weekend. There was lots of beautiful stuff and some amazing jewelry. I was a good girl and didn't spend all my money. I worked all day Sunday and while hot it wasn't unbearable like it was last year. We did a quilt square craft (my idea!!) and I'll be making 3 different quilts for display in the library by June 9th the SRP kick off date. There are some really good squares. I'll post pictures of them once I get them put together!
We did pretty good at Trivia on Tuesday. Better than we've done in months but still not good enough! We're going to try the trivia at the Crown and Anchor on Joan's birthday. It sounds like a lot of fun too!
I've been karaoke-ing twice this year and have actually gotten up and sang. We'll see if that insanity continues or I nip it in the bud!
I just bought tickets to fly to Omaha at the end of June. I'll get to help Gina (7/2) celebrate her big 30 this year and my Mom's (7/5) birthday too! I'm flying out June 26th and I'll be home July 1st. I miss everybody lots so I'll be scramblin to see them but it's worth it! And of course I'll get to see Tubbo Roscoe too! (I'll have to remember to take my Benedryl!
Later,
Rachel
